Notifications
Which ITMO notifications exist on iOS, which are free, which need Super Watcher, and how to turn each one off.
Notifications are all opt-in, and you can fine-tune them in the app's Settings.
Free
- Report reminders. Local reminders on days you choose, nudging you to check on the mountain.
- Streak reminders. A nudge to keep your reporting streak alive.
- Busy days. A push nudge for busy days. Off by default.
- Merch deals. Promotional pushes from the Rainier Watch shop. These are separate from everything else and off unless you opt in.
Super Watcher

- First-Out alerts. A push about the first Out report of the day.

How the permission flow works
The app asks during onboarding, in Settings, or in a small card after you submit a report. One tap on "yes" turns on the free types listed above: report reminders, streak reminders, merch deals, and busy days. It never turns on Mountain-Out or First-Out, which stay with Super Watcher. Each place that asks also tells you where to turn them back off: Settings in the app.
If you already said no to iOS, the app won't nag. Turn it on in iOS Settings, then choose reminders in ITMO.
Permissions the iOS app asks for
Which iOS permissions ITMO asks for (location, notifications, camera and photos), why, and how to change your mind in Settings.
