Install and set up the iOS app
Get the ITMO iOS app, walk through first-launch onboarding, and learn what the main screens do. iOS 18 or later required.
The native iOS app does what the website does, but faster and with your camera, widgets, and notifications.
Install
Download ITMO: Is Mount Rainier Out from the App Store. It needs iOS 18 or later.
Android? It's next on the roadmap. You can sign up for updates on the ITMO app page.
First launch
The first launch walks you through a short onboarding:
Optional profile
Create an account if you want photos, streaks, and the leaderboard. Skip it and you can still report anonymously.
Notifications
The app explains what it'll send and asks for permission. See notifications.
Location
Asked so you can place reports. See permissions.
What's in the app
- Status and Home: the current verdict, recent reports, and local weather.
- Map: the hexagon community map for today.
- Report: pick a state, optionally add a photo, hold to submit.
- Webcams: current snapshots. See webcams.
- Community: top watchers, streaks, and the first-out spotlight.
- Profile: your stats, streaks, Tahoma Tokens and benchmarks.
- History: a 30-day almanac. See stats.
Offline
If you lose signal, previously loaded status, map, webcam, and profile data stay readable, and the app queues reports to send later.
